Daniel A. Nelsen

Chief Commercial Officer

Daniel has a Bacherlor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Stanford University.

Brandon is responsible for New Product Development and BioSAFE’s engineering team for the company. He has over a decade of experience leading the engineering and designing of Tissue Digesters, Biological Effluent Decontamination Systems, and Medical Waste Decontamination Systems. Brandon’s professional experience also includes laboratory design, system design and facility automation design for some of the world’s leading high‐level bio-containment laboratories in both the private and governmental sectors. With expertise in multiple PLC and CAD programs, Brandon has been a valuable resource in development of new technologies as well as a liaison with BioSAFE’s current customer base.

Brandon has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology from Iowa State University.

Aaron Stout

Aaron Stout

Director of Sales and Marketing

Aaron has previously worked at Follett LLC, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Helmer Scientific.
Roland has been with BioSAFE since 2013 as its Director of Operations and has extensive experience in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of high containment projects including: Rocky Mountain Laboratory – Project Manager, Boston NEIDL – Project Manager and Manager of all MEP, Project Manager – Plum Island PIADC, and Lackland AFB Expansion – Onsite Project Engineer. Prior to joining BioSAFE, he was the Managing Partner for Hemisphere Engineering from ‘06-‘11 and later was with Merrick from ‘11-‘13.
In his current capacity, Roland is involved in all phases of BioSAFE Engineering’s business from development to design manufacturing through commissioning.

Sam Einterz

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Sam coordinates mechanical design for BioSAFE's products, with expertise in hazardous equipment and medical waste system design.

Sam is responsible for coordinating the mechanical design for each of BioSAFE’s main product lines. He has been involved in hazardous equipment design for the past decade and holds multiple design patents for his work. With experience in design and manufacturing of medical waste sterilization systems and environmental remediation and monitoring systems, his experience with mechanical design and knowledge of hazardous waste equipment design adds to the vast ability of BioSAFE’ s technical team. Sam’s most recently was BioSAFE’s project manager and on-site liaison for the just complete and successful Plum Island Animal Disease Center biological decontamination system. That project included an impressive 68,000 gallons daily treatment capacity, four 13,000-gallon holding tanks and five 3,300-gallon processing tanks, and three Heat recovery and cooling heat exchanger skids. The project spanned over 24 months with direct on-site availability of over 18 months.

Phillip Mervis

CEO

Mervis is the Chairman and CEO of BioSafe Engineering and a leader in the field of the treatment and disposal of biological waste.

Mr. Phillip Mervis is President and CEO of BioSAFE Engineering, LLC. Prior to leading BioSAFE Engineering, Mr. Mervis was COO of Mervis Industries, one of the largest private recyclers in the USA. During his tenure, Mervis Industries recycled over 1 billion lbs. of per year of metals, plastics, paper, and electronics. Mr. Mervis also has experience developing a cost-effective recycling process for metal plastic sandwich material (Duraplate) used in over the road trailers. He also managed all recycling for Delphi electronics North America, operating in both the US and Mexico. Mr. Mervis has leveraged his experience in the recycling industry to make BioSAFE a leader in enabling the recycling of medical and laboratory plastics, involving the design/build/install and service of integral decontamination /recycling systems at industrial laboratories and blood processing facilities. Mr. Mervis holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA in Finance and Operations from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Daniel Nelsen serves as Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing the company’s sales, marketing, and business development initiatives. Prior to joining our team, Mr. Nelsen was a Senior Analyst at Albourne Partners, where he helped lead the Real Assets team and oversaw the energy, shipping, and private credit strategies. Mr. Nelsen’s strong technical foundation brings a rigorous analytical approach to strategic decision-making.  This diverse background fuels a commitment to driving growth and operational excellence in a rapidly evolving marketplace. Mr. Nelsen holds a BS in Management Science and Engineering and a MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.

Brandon Ross

Engineer Manager

Brandon leads New Product Development at BioSAFE, applying over a decade of experience in engineering high-level bio-containment systems and facility automation.

Brandon is responsible for New Product Development and BioSAFE’s engineering team for the company. He has over a decade of experience leading the engineering and designing of Tissue Digesters, Biological Effluent Decontamination Systems, and Medical Waste Decontamination Systems. Brandon’s professional experience also includes laboratory design, system design and facility automation design for some of the world’s leading high‐level bio-containment laboratories in both the private and governmental sectors. With expertise in multiple PLC and CAD programs, Brandon has been a valuable resource in development of new technologies as well as a liaison with BioSAFE’s current customer base.

Roland Kallechy

Director of Operations and Project Manager

Roland is a seasoned expert with over thirty-five years of experience in engineering high-containment and sophisticated industrial projects across North America.

Roland has been with BioSAFE since 2013 as its Director of Operations and has extensive experience in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of high containment projects including: Rocky Mountain Laboratory – Project Manager, Boston NEIDL – Project Manager and Manager of all MEP, Project Manager – Plum Island PIADC, and Lackland AFB Expansion – Onsite Project Engineer. Prior to joining BioSAFE, he was the Managing Partner for Hemisphere Engineering from ‘06-‘11 and later was with Merrick from ‘11-‘13.
In his current capacity, Roland is involved in all phases of BioSAFE Engineering’s business from development to design manufacturing through commissioning. As a member of our senior management team, Roland brings with him over thirty-five years of specialized professional experience in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering of special projects while working for private and public employers in both the United States and Canada. His experience and expertise include BSL 1-3 laboratories and has also been a key member during the design and construction of the majority if the BSL- 4 high-containment laboratories in the USA and Canada. Roland has also been a key contributor on engineering teams for cleanrooms, pharmaceutical laboratories, bulk pharmaceutical processing plants, pilot plant projects and other sophisticated industrial residential and commercial construction projects. Roland has participated in major laboratory peer reviews, feasibility studies and field inspections.

Chris Sollars

Service Manager

Chris leads BioSAFE’s Programmable Logic Controls and Customer Service, leveraging experience with sophisticated electronic systems, PLC programming, and systems troubleshooting.

Chris is responsible for Programmable Logic Controls Systems and Customer Service for BioSAFE Engineering. Having served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, he gained extensive experience maintaining sophisticated electronic systems. His expertise includes PLC controls programming, trouble shooting, and systems monitoring. He performs on-site Project Management and final control system commissioning and validation as well as supervises BioSAFE’s service team for all our extensive product lines in our Life Science and Medical Waste divisions. Chris has direct responsibility for the supervision of electrical and mechanical subcontractors.
Chris has a B.S. in Applied Physics from Ball Stat University, an A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, and a certificate in Electronics and Applied Avionics Technology from the College of USAF.
