The STI can also be integrated into a plastics recycling process, as the lower temperature and pressure conditions in the STI process do not change the physical or chemical properties of the treated plastic. Treated and bulk reduced plastics are sent following STI treatment to an advanced recycler for separation and reintroduction into the plastics market.
